Since I can't reply to Gabe's
Look, it's not too hard to comprehend. I view this place like I would a sports bar. You have discussions and you have arguments and occasionally as you get to know the person, you sometimes call them out and tell them to go pound sand. It you get too abrasive and curse at the person then, like in real life, you can suffer consequences. The other person could hit you, the bar could throw you out, etc. etc. Yes, a message board gives some "internet toughness" because it's anonymous and you're not face to face with a guy who might be 6'-8" and take a swing at you in the real life bar.
But I will say this, it does generate interest. It's entertaining. And for the most part good natured. It's purposeful and each side wants to rustle the other. But in the end if all of us knew that the Royals fan or Cardinals fan was also a Mizzou fan (which we know here but would have to figure out in the bar eventually) then I guarantee you the bar discussion would be different. That's not to say the two Mizzou fans - one wearing a Cards shirt and the other wearing a Royals shirt COULDN'T turn to punches but most likely it wouldn't.
Gabe you're not going to eliminate it. But all of us know when you enter into a MLB thread and want to stir it up then go for it. Others just need to realize there WILL BE threads so if you don't want to enter into the conversation stay on your side of the bar. And those that do understand there can be consequences.
But for the love of all things Mizzou, DON'T COMPLAIN ! Not to the bar owner, not to the other patrons, not to anybody. Just either avoid it or have better material in your posts. Bring it or go home or better yet stay out.
M I Z !!!
