After reading all the information the last few weeks, I think this all boils down to Sterk's pettiness.

Why is the BOC needing to tell an SEC AD to at least talk to better options than Monken and Skip freaking Holtz? If you end up falling to those guys, so be it. Shouldn't 95% of the guys on your list to talk to be better than that level though?

So, why didn't Sterk talk to better candidates? Granted, Norvell and Harsin didn't want to talk. Some of us have been pointing out for a month that Harsin wouldn't talk to us, that one was obvious. Back to the list though. Why didn't Sterk at least talk to a better group? I think it all boils down to his own pettiness.

Sterk, by most accounts, is a heavy handed rule from above you type of leader. He just fired a mediocre to decent coach bcuz that coach was bullheaded and fought with him. Start putting the pieces together now. Look at his list he talked to.

Everyone that we actually know he talked to and everyone on Sterk's final list of 3 were "good guys" that wouldn't rattle the ship. Good company men and all older guys. Nothing flashy. No big personalities. No young hot shots.

Are you seeing the pattern yet? It sure looks like Sterk was pissy about Odom talking back, so in his pettiness he went looking for an older "yes man" that he could keep his thumb on.

He didn't interview a big personality in Kiffin. He wasn't going to hire a young hot shot like Healy that might have the youthful audacity to talk back like Odom did. Same goes for all the young, up and coming coordinators that he appears to have skipped talking to.

The leak is ridiculous... but in the end, maybe it forces Sterk to interview the best candidates to lift our football program instead of just interviewing the best "yes men."
