I just got off the phone with SPIRE Academy director Justin Brantley for a story on Gardner. He raved about Gardner's versatility and work ethic. Said he believes Myron is exactly the type of kid that fits in a "positionless" basketball system, noting he guards all five positions for SPIRE.
Cornell Mann is the lead recruiter here. He's got a good relationship with both Brantley and head coach Jermaine Jackson, and according to Brantley, he's had his eye on Gardner for a while.
SPIRE will play more than 40 games this season, almost all outside the state of Ohio, but Brantley said there's definitely time for players to go on official and unofficial visits. Jackson, Gardner and Cornell are working to set up a visit here "soon."
