Was watching the Pawl Show yesterday with Tony Barnhart sitting in. Someone called in about doing away with the one-and-done situation. Tony, IMHO, correctly stated that this is a by-product of the NBAs rule on a player not being able to be drafted until one year after their senior HS season.

But it got me thinking. Why doesn't the NCAA just force the issue and say that a school can take a one-and-done but they'll lose a scholarship the next year for every one-and-done player they take.

I realize this is probably much more nuanced than I am presenting it here but the point it, why does the NCAA have to play by the NBAs rules? I'm sure some (many?) will poo-poo this but I'm just trying to start a conversation.

From my perspective the kids can sit a year, go to Europe for a year or the league can expand their D-League (or whatever they're calling it now). And yes I realize this means we'd never have gotten MPJ to Columbia, but I'd rather have that than the current situation.
