At this point, is hiring a new assistant basketball coach going to help us with any 2015 recruits? I suppose they could have some kind of connection to a recruit that could suddenly sway them to look at Mizzou and possibly sign or bring a transfer from a school where they were previously an assistant, but I would think the chances are remote.
Stu Black said in another thread that signing 2 of the top 3 in-state recruits (Jayson Tatum, Tyler Cook, and Xavier Sneed) would be critical for the 2016 class. If that's the case, wouldn't hiring their St. Louis Eagles AAU coach (former Tiger, Corey Tate) be the obvious thing to do? Even if it does not work out with KA, I would think that Tate would have a good chance of being retained by the next head coach if he can be a factor in getting those recruits.
