Wyoming redshirt senior RB Nico Evans (ribs) has been downgraded from day-to-day to doubtful for Saturday's game against Missouri.
Not good news for a Cowboys offense that seemed to find an effective run-heavy identity with Evans in the backfield and then seemed to revert to a wasteland after Evans got injured against Wazzu on Saturday. Wyoming actually led by six after the first possession of the second half, but went on to lose 41-19 as Wazzu scored 28 consecutive points with Evans on the sideline. After Evans left the game, the Cowboys gained just 52 yards of total offense the rest of the game in what amounted to almost an entire half. Jevon Bigelow would appear to be the starter if Evans is out, with Xazavian Valladay acting as the 1B option in a timeshare.
