Days before Allen (Tex.) High product Theo Wease Jr. signed with the Miami Dolphins, a current player from his alma mater picked up an offer from Missouri.

Tigers edges coach Brian Early extended a scholarship to James Roberson on Thursday after seeing the Class of 2027 safety in a workout. Missouri, the school Wease transferred to for his final two seasons of college football, liked Roberson's 6-foot-1, 197-pound frame and wanted to see it in person.

Although separated by eight years in graduating classes, Roberson still followed parts of Wease's career, especially in the final chapter with the Tigers. Roberson is projected to play in the secondary at the next level, but he also currently plays wide receiver for Allen.

"Theo had a good career," Roberson said. "They're a really great team. I'm blessed to have received an offer from them. Seeing a wide receiver from Allen make it to the NFL is eye opening and makes me want to better myself."
