A couple of quick notes on game management:
-Parking super easy and free. Thanks to the poster who posted about Dole Hall. We drove right there and parked and easy 1 mile walk to stadium.
-Easy to get in, concessions super fast.
-I liked the stadium. Small and modern and I thought loud. We sat in Bramlege during delay. No way that thing holds 11,500 right? And they only have four sections of chair backs out of 27. That was shocking.
-I can’t underscore how bad Brady Cook was. On the first drive I knew we were in trouble. I told my wife this is the worst QB play I’ve seen in 20 years and we actually got a field goal. Receivers were open all day and nothing. Burden and Lovett couldn’t be covered and Mizzou couldn’t get them the ball. Brady looks really bad. I don’t see how he gets better. I’m sure it was bad on tv…in person it was horrific.
-Defense wasn’t bad in my view except the 2nd drive. The first drive was like death by a million cuts. The second drive they had some busted coverages. Again, not outstanding but certainly could have held them to around 24.
-Our punter is terrible. Like-he’s going to give up numerous long returns. He can’t punt in warmups and during games he hangs the coverage out to dry. Outside of QB, Oline and TE-the fact we went into this year without an experienced punter is amazing.
-Finally, punt returns. I was around a coach once who said that anytime you let the punt bounce you lose on average 14 yards of field position. KAD didn’t catch a punt all day. We lost 25 yards at the end of the half. Twice they pinned us inside the 5 when the ball could have been caught around the 10. Just catch the damn ball.
I don’t regret going. Weather and performance were miserable. I did like the KSU video before the game talking about the sacrifice fans make to come to these games and plan their lives around them. Loved seeing all the gold in the stands. Wish we could have had a better game!
