I have a feeling that even after everything that went down, BO still did his Alma mater a solid in the end. You know that Drinkwitz talked to Odom about the university and Sterk. What went wrong and what he would do different. It takes a damn big person to swallow your pride a bit and sell the school.
Another thing that I’ve been thinking all day is that while Sexton wouldn’t stop someone from hiring his client, he sure would be selective about one of his potential young up and comers. Anderson or Monken are relatively known quantity and the focus is/should be on what this current opportunity is. For someone like Drinkwitz though, Sexton is paid to think about the long game. How this move sets him up for a potential Blue Blood or NFL. It would have been very easy to tell Drinkwitz to wait it out for a better opportunity. In the end, you are almost certain he won’t be here in 10 years but you hope like hell he moves on to one of those because that means he was very successful. If so, you’re in a much better space next time. I think Odom probably also helped sell Sexton a bit on the positives of MU.
