Watched the game tonight on DVR after being there in person yesterday. Our seats are at the opposite end of the court from where the foul involving Pickett occurred, so despite all the replays on the Jumbotron, I had not seen it clearly.
The official who called the foul against Pickett was standing in front of the Auburn bench almost to the scorers table, away from the play. The official closest to the play (on the baseline) is the one who saw the Auburn player step on Javon's leg. He's the one who cleared the court to go to the monitor.
The best part was as the three officials huddled after the review, it appears on the broadcast you can see the official who called for the review turn to the official who made the original call and ask "who's do you want to tell?" Official who made the wrong call points toward our bench and takes off. No way was he wanted to tell Bruce Pearl.
Third guy takes off to tell the TV guys.
That left the guy who was in the best position to make the call and who did the right thing as the guy who had to tell Pearl.
