I am with Gabe and his "Ten thoughts on Mizzou Football" post from Monday....Mizzou will play Georgia tough and take this game into the 4th quarter....and I think they will have a chance to win it and just may pull off the upset.

Gabe's #9) "My initial prediction for this weekend is that Missouri plays really well and keeps it close. I think Georgia will win the game. But I think Missouri will go into the fourth quarter with a chance. That, to me, is the bar for success. If you play with UGA and make them sweat, I think Missouri fans should walk away happy. My initial pick is Georgia 44, Missouri 35. That may change over the course of the week."

College football more than perhaps any other sport is a game of emotion...if an underdog believes they can win (trust me, Odom and his Mizzou players will)...and if the favorite believes they will win easy (Georgia players will, despite what their Coaches tell them)...the field gets LEVELED....big time!

Line play...blocking and tackling...tips every game...and emotion is a big part of both. I think Mizzou comes out with more emotion and gets the crowd into the game and keeps them there with a chance to pull off the upset.

I think we will see a "1997 Mizzou/Nebraska flea-flicker" type game...with a huge emotional advantage for the home underdog on Saturday.

We don't have to have a better team to win Saturday...we just have to play better for those 3 to 4 hours.

Is Georgia better than us? Absolutely. Is the difference impossible to overcome? No.

Did I see how our defense got shredded against Purdue? Yes....yes I did.

Did that 1997 team look equally awful in losses to kU and K-State earlier that same season? Yes...and yes.

I make no bones about being the eternal optimist and wearing black & gold glasses...but too many of you are writing off this talented Mizzou team because of the Purdue game.

I actually think the way that game unfolded works to our advantage this week...regardless of what the Georgia Coaches tell their players all week...those 18-21 year old players won't buy it...they will be expecting an easy game because that is what they are seeing, hearing, and reading from every other source.

Call me crazy...but this will be a "dog-fight" for the Dawgs (no pun intended).

Take Mizzou and the points...in fact, we may just win outright...and IF we do...it's gonna be a helluva party night in Columbia, MO.
