Since it's off-season, here's a look back at the old days. The story is from the Mizzou equipment manager's perspective. This was the first game of the year. There are some good pre-season side stories that lead-up to the game. It's interesting to hear the way ND treated visiting teams back in the day. The lack of weight training before Powers floored me. We had more weight training in my little bootheel high school.
Notre Dame finished 9-3 (AP #7) and won the Cotton Bowl.
Mizzou finished 8-4 (AP #15) and beat LSU in the Liberty Bowl.
But that fine day, Mizzou took the Irish down 3-0 on the road.
