considering it is dominating about 60% of the conversations the last few days, figured I'd throw some things together here:

*I don't expect Jeff Thomas to come to Missouri. Seems he'll probably end up at Illinois. Maybe Oregon after reading Josh Helmholdt's latest story. I want to be clear here, I'm not taking any shots at Josh's story (he and I have talked about this very thing tonight), but I don't know what to believe from Thomas or the East St. Louis prospects at this point. It depends on who's talking and what day they're talking what you're going to hear. Who knows what's true? So Josh can obviously only write what the kid says. I can say with certainty that Missouri has not stopped recruiting Thomas and has not told him they filled up his spot. He will have a spot here until signing day. And it is expected that Thomas and Rey Estes are taking official visits to Missouri in January.

There are way too many signs that he wants to go somewhere else for me to come on here and tell you I think the kid is coming to Mizzou. I don't. And if I had to put money one way or the other, I probably wouldn't expect Estes to end up here either. But that's the situation there as I understand it.

*As far as Greg Taylor goes, well, the kid went out swinging, you can say that for sure. I will admit to wondering during the season how Taylor couldn't get on the field for this team at safety. But I think it was fairly telling he couldn't. And I don't even know if any of it had to do with whether he was a good football player or not. There are a lot of responsibilities that go along with being a D1 football player. I think young Mr. Taylor failed to fulfill some of those. Officially the word was that Taylor chose to leave. It is my understanding that no one spent a whole lot of time trying to convince him otherwise.

Let me be clear that the Taylor situation hasn't done anything to destroy or damage any relationships at East St. Louis. Neither Darren Sunkett nor anyone else there expects his guys to be handed playing time. Multiple sources have told me that there isn't ill will from ESL toward Mizzou in regards to the Taylor situation.

*On the Terry Beckner stuff and the never-changing debate about whether he should start and how angry he is that he didn't, I had someone tell me "Terry is probably our best leader and our best recruiter right now." If the situation bothers him a fraction as much as it bothers some people on this board, no one around the football program is able to tell it right now.
