He may have been doing this all season, but I particularly noticed it yesterday. When we had players down on the ground, trainers were on the scene first, but on more than a couple occasions, Eli was not far behind.
Of course, with serious injuries, nearly every head coach would go out there, but Drink was there early on. What was most striking was when he assisted getting Jalen Knox to the sideline. Others, but including players, approached to relieve Drink, but he waved them off.
Maybe I’m just looking for things to like about him, but that struck me as another little window into who he is. I think his values aren’t just facade. At least I hope I’m right about that.
