and I heard this tonight. Apparently MR got "pretty far" in negotiations with the representatives of one potential Coach. Numbers were discussed. MR threw some numbers out that he "felt extremely confident" he could get approved. These numbers were given sometime about two weeks ago. Said representative got back with MR with the numbers and conditions it would take. MR felt there was "no way" he could get that type of money approved. The rest is history.
MR learned over the last three months just how big of a mess this thing really is, and I think (obviously) he underestimated the utter lack of interest, at best scepticism, that potential Coaches had for this job.
It wasn't for the lack of trying by MA that KA is coming back. He (MR) was flat out told NO by no less than five candidates.... but there were more than one who told him the job would definitely interest them, just not right NOW.
