I was in school from 77 - 82 and "Mizzou" was rarely if at all ever used....we had the M-I-Z Z-O-U cheer just like today and said the word when singing the fight song but that was about it....all the gear back then said MU or Missouri or University of Missouri...I found a fitted baseball cap I use to wear to basketball games at Hearnes and it has the old tiger logo on the front and MU in gold on the back...now it is about 99% everything says Mizzou....I know Alden started a campaign a few years ago to market Mizzou and change the block M instead of MU to differentiate us from Michigan but to this day when asked where I went to school I say "MU" or "University of Missouri"...I guess its hard to break old habits which is why I continue to call that school in Springfield SMS;)
