Hi guys, my name is Zach and I live up around Quincy, IL. I went to Mizzou from 2005-2009 and have been a die hard fan ever since. I’ve always appreciated the job Gabe and his staff have done and enjoyed the content. Keep up the good work!

I never post but I thought I would share a few pieces of information and a few links with you guys today.

My sister, Taylor, is actually a senior multimedia producer at The Players’ Tribune in NYC. She has been with them basically since the beginning and has worked her way up. She is a big Mizzou fan and loves the Midwest so she tries to represent them both as well as she can. She is very aware of PowerMizzou and keeps up with Mizzou through my Dad and I.

The Players’ Tribune released a piece this morning on Kolten Wong and the loss of his mother. This is a story that my sister had been wanting to feature for some time and they finally were able to make it happen. She ran solo with this project and literally did everything from start to finish. She takes her job very seriously and takes pride in putting out a quality product that helps athletes tell their stories. As a sports fan, it’s easy to get caught up in what happens on the field or how certain players perform. We develop opinions about them that can be harsh and change the way we view the athletes, even as people. But sometimes a little perspective and a look into the human side can go a long way towards remembering that it’s just a game and you never know the battles people are going through.

I’m very proud of Taylor’s work, but more so that she has earned the opportunity to help good people like Kolten get their stories out.

With there being Cardinal fans on the board and with Mother’s Day right around the corner I thought I would share Kolten’s story on the Lair, as well as to let whoever cares know that there’s a friend/fan of Mizzou at The Players’ Tribune.

She was also able to cover a few of the World Series games in 2015, including the clincher in New York. I’m also going to share the link to her website that features some of that work. I thought the Royals fans may enjoy seeing some of it. Shameless plug, I know, but we are pretty proud of her work and what she’s accomplished so far in her career. Take care and MIZ
