What's up with the lack of throws over the middle?
For the last two weeks Maty's attempted less than a handful of throws over the middle. So is this because Maty can't see those routes developing? Are those pass plays no longer in the playbook? It just seems like those quick slants across the middle are the bread-and-butter of moving the chains, but we don't seem to be looking for those plays. Since we are not bothering to use the middle third of the field, it just seems like we are making it too easy for other teams to defense us. (Of course it doesn't help that we can't create a running lane either.)
Also, anybody else miss murph? It sure would be nice to get a return longer than 5 yards.
OTOH, we certainly didn't dominate early in the season last year and that turned out all right.
