A friend of Dr Ivey's posted this on his Facebook page. Beyond impressive for a 43yo dude that stands about 6'3". Most powerlifters are short and thick. He had videos of the squat and deadlift. For those not familiar w these meets.....the lifter must pause at the bottom with clean, uninterrupted technique. No knee wraps, wrist wraps, hooks, bouncing, etc. Squat must break parallel.

My buddy Pat Ivey stepped onto the powerlifting platform for the first time in several years. What did my 43 year old brother do:

Squatted 250 kg/551lb

Benched 147.5kg/325lb

Deadlifted 280kg/617lb

Total 677.5kg/1493lb

Tentatively set American PL records in squat and deadlift (M1 div)

Qualified for WDFPF PL Worlds, next November in Boston.

Won numerous awards I can't remember, but he made out like a bandit.
