A few more notes...
-- Glen Elarbee, on the challenge presented with a lack of numbers on the OL: "Well, we've been on a three-man weave every once in a while. It's been interested. The good thing is, guys are getting a lot of reps, and it's important to learn. When you don't have a lot of experience, the more reps you get, the better you get at what you're trying to do."
-- Elarbee said earlier in the spring that an issue with the line is that they have way more interior bodies than tackle bodies. I asked Elarbee if any guards have gotten looks at tackle, for depth purposes. Here's what he said: "You know, not right this second. There's a chance for that, but it hasn't happened quite yet. Maybe during the summer, it's maybe something we look at."
-- Elarbee was also asked about how Trystan Castillo and Tre'Vour Simms fit into the position battles once they arrive. I assumed that both are pretty cut-and-dry interior linemen; Elarbee said Castillo is more of an interior guy, but added, "Tre'Vour will probably have a little more of a chance because of his length to help us outside, but more than likely you'll see them be inside guys."
-- One guy that could get a look back at tackle is Nate Crawford, once he returns from injury. Elarbee referenced Crawford specifically and cited the fact that Crawford has played right tackle before. As far as Crawford's on-going back injuries (two surgeries in less than a year), Elarbee said he's still counting on Crawford to be back for the summer.
"Talking to Rex and all the guys and Nate, it's something I think they've gone in there and fixed, done a good job. It doesn't seem to concern him (Crawford) at all. He was out here today, he was wanting to jump in. Hey, you'll have your time man. It'll come back. I'm not too worried about it."
