A transfer from Canisius, A kid that would normally still be in high school, and Kim Anderson's team completely dominated a legit top 20 team for 32 minutes.
It's ok to be disappointed because I sure as hell am. You can look at this as one that got away, you can look at it as a crushing defeat. I'm going to choose to look at it as MONUMENTAL progress from a few months ago.
Games like this make teams stronger. This team should've learned a lot about what kind of ability they have tonight. The closing minutes sucked, but we played the best pressure defense in the country with guys who just hadn't seen anything like it before. Jevon Carter is an All American. Yes we collapsed but WVU also did a hell of a lot to win that game. Give credit where it's due.
Also I don't want to hear about Cuonzo. This team would've gotten handled by 40 if Kim was the coach. He is still learning what he has personnel wise and games like this will happen early in the season. You make adjustments and move on.
This team is still a good, potential NCAA Tournament team. If MPJ comes back we have a chance to be special.
