I will be watching this situation at Maryland closer than most as I have a former player on staff there.

In the aftermath of the suspensions...the former quality control coach has now moved into the role of fulltime QB Coach...as the OC (Matt Canada) who previously also coached QB's, has now has now moved into the role of Interm Head Coach.

What that team and remaining staff has been dealing has been really tough...but they are picking up the pieces and trying to move forward as best they can.

To make things even tougher...they play 5 pre-season top-25 teams so it won't be easy. The open the season at home September 1st vs. the Texas Longhorns.

Please say a prayer for this great young man who just moved his family to Maryland after suffering through the bad luck of getting his very first D-I full time coaching job at Rice...where the campus & city were ravaged by hurricanes right after he and his family moved there...and a 1-11 season and complete staff firing ensued.

The life of a D-I assistant can be brutal...especially for a young Coach with a family.

A 6-8 win Bowl season had been previously expected...now who knows what to expect?
