Here were the keys to the game (abridged) that I mentioned before the game....

Let's see how they did

Cliffs:
1. Shoot the ball better than UCF
FG: Mizzou 25-55 (46%) -- UCF 23-52 (44%)
3PT: Mizzou 8-19 (42%) -- UCF 6-18 (33%)
FT: Mizzou 4-8 (50%) -- UCF 7-12 (58%)
Result: Pass.

2. break even on turnover battle
Mizzou: 10
UCF: 13
Result: Pass.

3. Own the offensive glass

Mizzou: D Boards 20 -- O Boards 11
UCF: D Boards 22 -- O Boards 12
Result: No pass (although I don't have the numbers here, I feel we got some BIG buckets off of our boards)

4. break even on free throws
Mizzou: 8 free throws
UCF: 12 free throws
Result: No pass

5. Get this ugly fvcking streak off the board.
Result: Pass.

6 players scored. 3 of our 10 players (Robertson, Tilmon, Barnett) provided 50 of our 62 points. And none were bigger than Phillips 5 at the end. That's two seniors, one junior and a freshman carrying the water. The other 7 chipped in 12. There's something to be said for your experienced players stepping up and getting it done.

It wasn't a pretty win. UCF executed with what I was worried about...a really stingy half court defense...taking us out of our half court and really slogging things down. And despite that, Mizzou still came out on top...on the road...against a top 100 team for a "Tier A" win. And when we haven't won a road game as a program in over 1000 days, you'll absolutely take it, no matter how you get it.

Tigers get 4 (should be) layups before we stop another streak in St. Louis.
