A bit of an abridged version, as I just got home from the newly minted, Den of Disappointment. And frankly, I don't have the desire to spend a hell of a lot of time on this one.

1. Georgia. Won't be considered a "bad" loss on the resume. Rated 70th in the RPI and 61 in Pomeroy. Likely a Tier two loss. Falls right in line with the Florida and @Mississippi State games we dropped.

2. With that in mind...we were in a bit of a weird spot, in my estimation. I saw Mizzou as right on the 8-9 line coming in. With a win today and a loss vs. Kentucky, I MAY have seen them move up to a 7, but unlikely. With a loss today, we MAY drop off that line. Which puts you in a 7-10 game. So not a lot of change there. The only way I saw us FOR SURE moving up to a 7 was winning 2. But at that point, you're guaranteed 3 games in 3 days with a roster of 7 scholarship players who've been run ragged, and a player who hasn't played in 3 months. It was kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't. Looking at most numbers, Mizzou has a 75% of being included in the tournament WITH today's loss. It does induce a little bit of sweating, more so than had we won. Certainly since we have no opportunity to improve our standing now. Would certainly be beneficial if some of the "bubble" teams dropped games this weekend.

3. There's something about this team and the Scottrade. The Tigers have now shot 13-52 from three point range in their two games this season. That's 25% for a team who shoots 39% collectively. They shoot anything CLOSE to season average, they have two more wins. It is what it is.

4. The officiating. I thought it was horrid. Yes, I think Mizzou got the short end of the stick. Maten picked up a foul one minute in, and was only whistled for one more foul in his final 37 minutes. In a game with 42 fouls called. That's...curious, for a player heavily involved on both ends. But more than the effect, I'm simply not a fan of watching a game ground to a halt with whistles on damn near every possession. Yeah, there were fouls committed. We committed a solid amount of them. But you don't have to blow the whistle every time contact is made.

5. Although the result was suboptimal, I thought it pretty cool that Mizzou had a solid showing of fans rooting on the team in an SEC tournament game in the home state. The biggest disappointment is we'll only get one shot at seeing them.
