So, this has been a week, huh?

1. Viewed as one game, and in no larger context, this was an impressive win. Temple entered the game 60th in Pomeroy. The won at USC, blew the doors off Aggie, beat Davidson and had Maryland within their grasp on a neutral court. It stacks up as a possible Q1 win. So, again, by itself, a very impressive outing to walk out of Philly with a double digit win. Props.

2. But there's the larger picture. Had we not lost that abortion on Tuesday, Mizzou would be in decent shape. Not great, but decent... defensible. But they lost. So...they're behind the eight ball. They've got no one to blame but themselves for that. So there's that, but there's also the viewpoint that they haven't rolled over. I wouldn't expect it from a Martin team, but if there was a time it was gonna happen...

3. To the game. MUCH better defensive effort tonight. True, temple may struggle to hit earth from a rooftop, but still...held a team to 35% on their home floor. Lone criticism there was the free throws allowed, especially the 17 in the first half (26 total). But when Temple scores 36 points live ball, that's good. The 18 turnovers were a nice touch too.

3. The offense? Still unimpressive. A bit better, but not good enough. Tigers were 13-25 from 2 (decent), 8-29 from 3 which sadly ups our season number. 22 line trips are good, would like to make more than 14. Were +4 on the boards. Had 14 turnovers which isn't horrid (need to see # of possessions to yield final opinion).

4. Welcome back Javon. 16 and 4 with 0 turnovers is much better. Dru, Mark and X combined for 26, 14 boards, 4 steals and 8 assists to only 4 turnovers. That's a far better back court performance.

5. The front court? I'll stay positive here and say 4 guys combining for 18 points and 9 to's is subpar.

So, anyway, nice win. Week is still a net loss, but the good news is they got that elusive win against quality comp in a tight game away from home they had been searching for.

Season is not back on track....yet...but it was a necessary first step if they hope to do so.
