Sterk is not flashy or a risk taker. This hire is his legacy. Kiffen or Healy could screw that up. Fear is a motivator. He can picture himself hiring either Harsin or McElwain, standing behind the mic, and explaining how they checked all his boxes. I personally would rather hire Kiffen or Healy, but that's not how this is going to go down. There's a saying in business "No one ever got fired for hiring McKinsey"
