The Missouri baseball team's opponent in Tuesday's home opener is Alabama A&M, the worst team in NCAA Division I. According to WarrenNolan.com's ELO ratings, the Bulldogs are No. 299 — out of 299 Division I teams.

Alabama A&M is 0-8 on the young 2019 season, swept by IPFW, Auburn and Mercer. The Bulldogs lost Friday's game to Mercer 21-0.

This all goes to say that anything but a comfortable Missouri win should be a sign of trouble. The Tigers went a disappointing 4-4 on their Florida trip against mediocre competition, including a too-close-for-comfort game against Florida A&M (No. 267 in ELO) where the Rattlers put the winning run on base.

The Tigers, who rank 101st in ELO, have three games this week: Tuesday's home opener and a pair of games Friday and Saturday in Conway, Arkansas. MU has a true road game at Central Arkansas on Friday and a neutral-site game against South Dakota State on Saturday.

In Tuesday's game, freshman left-hander Trae Robertson, a local product from Hickman High School, will get the start on the mound.

Robertson has yet to allow a run in 3.0 innings pitched for the Tigers.

Projected starters, per MU's game notes:

C: Chad McDaniel, So.
1B: Tony Ortiz, Sr.
2B: Mark Vierling, So.
SS: Chris Cornelius, Jr.
3B: Luke Mann, Fr.
LF: Connor Brumfield, Sr.
CF: Kameron Misner, Jr.
RF: Clayton Peterson, So.
DH: Alex Peterson, So.

WarrenNolan.com prediction: Missouri 7, Alabama A&M 0
