There's a thread on this, but for those who didn't see it, Alex is one of the two new KC Star Mizzou beat writers starting this weekend. Hell of a job to land fresh out of college, but he'll do a damn good job I'm sure. He's been taught well and I hear he came highly recommended for the position.
I'm sure he will have something to say to you all for making his life better for the last couple of years, but I wanted to make sure to publicly thank him for all the great work he did over the last couple of years. I mean, when he started, nobody ever read any of our basketball stuff and by the time he leaves us, it's by far the most popular content on the site. I'm sure that's all due to the quality of his coverage and not anything that happened that was beyond his control.
Also kudos to @brianaustin for recommending Schiffer for the job when we had an opening a while back. He'll be tough to replace, but I've got something in the works and will share that at the appropriate time.
I'll never encourage you to visit any other sites or read any other stories, but click on something with Schiffer's byline now and again so his bosses know he is appreciated. And if he ever writes anything negative or does anything you view as subpar, make sure to come to The Tigers' Lair to bitch about. That's kind of our thing.
