Quarters vs. Halves

Just tuned into the Mizzou WBB game noticed they play quarters.

Why is it NCAA men are the only one who play halves? High school is quarters, NBA as well.

I like the flow of just two twenty minute halves.

I thought there was talk of switching to quarters not that long ago.
