FOOTBALL RECRUITING Question About Qb Recruiting

A few months ago we got Lindsay Scott Jr, but I keep seeing members on this board talk about how screwed we are if we don't get a big time qb recruit (Mertz, the 5* from Clemson, etc). Can someone help me understand our need for a qb of the future? I thought Scott Jr was our guy. Am I reading the tea leaves incorrectly?
