Question about the women's game

I had to record and watch. Sorry if this was discussed in the game thread but I am too irritated to scroll through it. Is there a reason we kept playing man even though FGCU spent the whole game beating us off the dribble? I have never played or been taught the game so maybe I am missing something. I think they are still shooting layups and getting fouled.
