While I am not dumb enough to think we would get any breaks in Athens from the officials the one thing that bothered me the most was the quick hitter GA threw and the WR was smashed in the backfield and the ball came lose. He had turned up field and took two steps. It was called incomplete. Not sure if the ball came loose when the WR hit the ground or before but either way it should have been either Mizzou’s ball or 5 yard loss. Any clue why that was not reviewed? Next play was a huge pass to put GA at 1st and goal from the 5.
Thoughts.
Brady played like those who did not want him as the QB feared would be his best he could put out. Myself included in that group. But he did it against a team that makes everyone look horrible. He needed to be a rockstar to win. He wasn’t but he is still much better than expected. If the standard is beating GA everyone sucks.
Cody Schrader gives me serious thoughts on being gay for him. He is a freaking man’s man. While 99% of guys won’t make it, he is the reason why if you have the passion don’t give up.
Over all the defense was really good in my opinion. A couple of questionable decisions to blitz on 3rd and goal. Other than that they were really good.
Going into it I thought Drink couldn’t go conservative. He had to go balls out. He didn’t have a lot of opportunities to go balls out and I think he actually made the right calls for the most part. I do think the play calling was odd or almost everything to the outside. But that’s on Moore.
I think Luther plays Opossum a lot. I think he actually was hurt yesterday.
In Gabe’s poll he asked what would make you satisfied. I said a win. That’s still true, I am not satisfied but I do think this team showed a ton. They didn’t play their best, they played with their most talented player injured, they were royally fvcked by officials a few times, and still took a team on a historical run to the end on the road.
Next week is Drink’s toughest coaching job. TN is very good, not great. It would be our best win or worst loss of the year. If he can get the guys up they finish 10-2 and at worst go to the Citrus Bowl but more likely NY6.
