1. The first defensive penalty of the season is costly.

Chris McClellan with a hands-to-the-face penalty for the Tigers’ first defensive penalty on third and 15. Boston College had only got five yards on the play and was going to punt. That would lead to Mizzou allowing a team in the red zone for the first time all season.

Missouri's streak of 11 straight scoreless quarters and 12 straight quarters without a touchdown is snapped with Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos connecting on a 12-yard corner route to the back right pylon for a touchdown.

2. Nate Noel looks really good.

He looks explosive and has some great open-field moves. Use him more is what I say. Just because you have talented receivers doesn’t mean you neglect the run game.

However, no targets for Luther Burden on that drive. Got to get him involved.

The first offensive drive ends with a 38-yard field goal for Blake Craig, who missed his last two field goals from 49 and 52 yards, respectively, last week.

3. Defensive penalties coming at the wrong time.

Third and eight and the Tigers get no pressure on Castellanos on this specific play and Toriano Pride gets called for pass interference on a play he got a pass deflection.

That’s two penalties on two huge third and medium/long plays.

Third and four to start the second quarter

End of 1st: BC 7, MIZ 3
