1. The offense is super resilient.
Missouri's offense played like crap for the better part of two and a half quarters but it finds ways to win. The Tigers were always going to need a big play to stretch this Ohio State defense and they did that with a 49-yard completion to wide receiver Marquis Johnson late in the third quarter. Eventually, Cody Schrader punched it in from seven yards out five seconds into the final period to give Mizzou a 7-3 lead.
A 95-yard drive and then a 91-yard drive to score 14 points in the fourth quarter. Incredible.
2. The defense needs every flower in the world.
Missouri's defense won them this game. It's not even in question. Missouri's offense had chance after chance to get points in the game and every step forward usually resulted in two steps back due to penalties, poor blocking or something else. And the defense stayed disciplined and kept getting stops.
It ended the game with a strip sack to put the cherry on top. Again, incredible.
3. Cody Schrader breaks the Mizzou rushing record to finish a magical career.
Schrader needed 106 yards to break Tyler Badie's record for most yards in a game and he did it with 128 yards. What a season for Schrader. What a career. He put this team on his back in the second half of the season and is an NFL player for sure. He's the second player this season to rush for 100 yards or more against Ohio State. He was the first player to rush for 100 yards or more versus Georgia. He ran through Tennessee and Arkansas.
I mean he's one of the best players in program history now, and I'm sure he is now a draftable player for sure.
I have more coming about this game, but I've got to run to pressers.
