-Less than ideal start. It's one thing to have a bad shooting night. It's one thing to give up 30 points in 11 minutes. It's an utterly, entirely different thing to do both. That was possibly theworst they looked in the first quarter of the game all season. They came out entirely too hesitant on both ends.
-Auburn's edge has on the boards has made a big difference. With five minutes left in the half they were grabbing one out of every three of their misses. This has been one of Mo Diarra's rougher nights.
-I mentioned on the podcast today that Sean East has started to develop into somebody capable of taking guys off the dribble like DeAndre Gholston and Isiaih Mosley do. He's been the team's best player so far and got them out of the rut on offense.
-Pretty much everyone is having a hard time shooting the ball but t's especially glaring that Kobe Brown has been as quiet as he has. I don't think Auburn's bigs are strong or quick enough to hold him but he hasn't been asaggressive as you'd like to see him.
-I wrote in the preview today that Mizzou needed to hold Auburn off inside because they're not that good of a shooting team. That...um...was not a good take.
-Mizzou had a chance to work its way back into the game at one point, cutting it down to 17. I thought if they could make it a dozen by the half they could come back. But giving up a 12-2 run to close out the first makes it really, really tough.
