I've tried a couple times the last week to get a hold of Tyler Cook with no luck. Despite that here is what I'm hearing/thinking going in to him trimming his list today.
Cook told me at the Lexington EYBL that he would cut the list down to around eight. Schools I feel real confident saying they will make the cut are Mizzou, Kansas and SLU. I've been told by a few different people that this will come down to Mizzou and Kansas. I thought Kansas might back off when they missed on Jayson Tatum, but I was told Bill Self really likes Cook and will continue to come after him hard.
Schools that seem likely to make the cut are Iowa, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas State and Florida. I'm not real confident about the last two with all the departures at K State and coach Donovan leaving Florida.
I'm sure this won't be exactly right but think it will be close. It will be interesting to see what number he decides to settle on.
