We'll start with Mizzou:
UCF is a 2 point favorite at Mizzou Arena. I'm surprised it's not more. Missouri needed a split out of the Temple/UCF games. Temple was the more likely one to win. It's not impossible that Missouri wins, but it will take the best effort of the season.
Bowl announcement some time today. We don't know exactly when. The playoff is revealed at 11 am (more on that later) followed by the rest of the New Year's Six bowls. Missouri's destination could come out really at any time after that. The press conference is at 6 (allowing for people to cover basketball and the bowl announcement) but the matchup most certainly is going to be known before then. We just don't know exactly when.
I'm assuming LSU and Florida are both getting in the NY6 bowls. If they don't, just write Missouri down for Memphis. But assuming they do, here are the two scenarios:
Citrus: Kentucky
Outback: A&M
Gator: Missouri
Belk: South Carolina/Vandy
Music City: Auburn/Mississippi State
Texas: Mississippi State/Auburn
Liberty: Vandy/South Carolina

The Music City Bowl seems pretty sold on Purdue. So I don't see Nashville as a thing for Missouri. My info indicates it's Gator or Liberty. A&M is the key. If the Aggies are there, the Gator is going to take them. They haven't played a bowl game in Florida since 1957 and that's where they want to go. My A&M guy is expecting the Outback...but again, maybe it works that MSU goes to the Outback and A&M is still there for the Gator. Missouri and Mississippi State are really interchangeable. They've had very similar seasons. A&M is a tick above both of them. So it will be interesting to see how it all goes down.
Random college football stuff:
I think Georgia is one of the four best teams in the country. But I see no way the committee puts them in the playoff. First, the outrage would be delicious. But second, if they get in, then they've got to be the four seed and play Bama again. You can't put them over ND just to avoid a rematch. And that's honestly not really fair to Bama. The Tide just beat Georgia. Why should they have to do it again? If you're just picking the four best teams, I'm confident Georgia is one of them (in fact, I'm confident they're one of the three best teams). But their season overall doesn't dictate that they get in probably. Oklahoma should and will get the fourth spot.
So Alabama plays Oklahoma, Clemson plays Notre Dame and there you have it.
If anything breaks during the day or if we can get the bowl info before it's public, we'll do so. We'll have coverage of basketball and the bowl game tonight and Sean is working on chasing down visitors once they leave campus.
