I wasn't there for this particular quote, so I'm linking Blake Toppmeyer's blog where I read it. Anyway, Scherer was asked about the variance of playing time:
“It’s normal football. It’s competition. Just because maybe we’re not used to it around here, because maybe some of the coaches were loyal to their guys and they knew their guys were going to come out and play on Saturdays no matter how they practiced, now, with the team we have, you have to practice well to play well.”
This was a mailbag question as well and my answer will be in there later this morning.
