Talked to some people in San Antonio this weekend and here’s what I got
-Kassius said “Jontay will probably test the waters, not hire an agent but we’ll see after that.”
-Jeff Goodman said, “I’d expect Jontay to declare without an agent but would be surprised if he stays in the draft. He’s what, a second round pick this year and potential lottery pick next year? I also think his dad will want a job at Mizzou for one more year but who knows.”
-ILL GA when I asked him about Ramey visiting Champaign, “Yep. That’s the plan.”
-He also said Mark Smith’s dad is the absolute worst. Controls every single thing about Mark. If he isn’t playing enough, why he isn’t playing point guard, if he is having a bad game then why does the coaching staff still have him in the game, why isn’t he starting, etc. Basically he’s never happy.
-He said their frontcourt is going to be horrible if they don’t get any more guys but the backcourt could be great if they get Ramey (and I agree with both those)
-I asked Kash about Cuonzo and he said, “That. Is. My. Guy. I love that man. I don’t know how every dude in the nation doesn’t want to play for him.”
-Kash said the coaching staff has given him a few Grad Assistants phone numbers so Kassius can text and call them to tell him about how much he loves Cuonzo and his “amazing experience” as a grad transfer at Mizzou.
