—A lot of chatter about whether this team is good enough to beat Georgia. Can’t overlook South Carolina. Just like it was important not to let the LSU loss domino into a second defeat, the Kentucky win needs to be validated with a win on Saturday. Should be a great atmosphere and the forecast looks ideal. Guessing how these guys bounced back after digging a 14-0 hole, they’ll be ready to play.
—As I said in another thread, Cook is playing with a chip on his shoulder. I was stopped in the grocery store the other day by a young guy who saw my Mizzou t-shirt. Said he was Cook’s brother-in-law and that Brady is really enjoying working with Kirby Moore. It shows.
—It’s not always easy to identify and develop a QB. Remember that Hooker got his chance at Tennessee two years ago only after Milton got dinged up. Look at the Vols offense with Milton running the show. And look at TCU. Chandler Morris was the starter last season but got knocked out in the opener. Duggan then took the Frogs on their magical ride. No way that happens with Morris. This year he has been pedestrian at best, and last week he got knocked out again. On Saturday, his replacement threw for 439 yards and 4 TDs. Nice evaluation, Sonny Dykes.
—Dan Lanning owes his team an apology. One horrendous game-management decision after another.
—Somebody’s gonna end that Georgia winning streak … Sorry. Didn’t mean to look ahead.
