We did not play perfect. We did not play terrible. We played equal to Kentucky in every measure but one. FT chances and percentage made. So maybe that is two but they are related.

When you go into Rupp you expect the officials to lean the other way. You don’t expect it to be as bad as it was. Look I am not defending Tilmon he puts himself in these situations, but when the refs go to the monitor on every play you are involved in they are looking for something. I counted ten calls that could go either way and 9 went to Kentucky. There were 6 calls where the official who called it could not have possibly seen the foul he called. There were three blocks that should have been called goaltending. They called zero.

Credit to Kentucky. When they went to the line they shot well. The few chances we got, things did not go great. I am not saying if the game was called correctly we win. I got the feeling that Kentucky had an extra gear that they never had to hit, but could have if needed. However, besides making it terrible to watch, you can’t expect anyone to win in that building playing 8-5.

The things we could have controlled and done better we’re shooting from the line. Do a better job of limiting turn overs. It was not the worst effort but there were a few unforced errors that helped Kentucky pull away. Defense was good but they lost guys giving up some easy put backs.

There really are not moral victories when you expect a team to make the tourney. However, there was nothing that happened today that makes me worried about any future games. We need to take care of business at home and find a way to steal 2-3 on the road.
