Iowa - 13 years without a tournament win with 3 appearances (the final appearance was part of their return to prominence).
Not long ago they were in a lull like us:
They had an all time coach retire (Davis), hired a flash that flamed out (Alford). Hire a mid major guy (Lickliter). But while Mike Anderson worked for us, Lick sucked and was gone after 3 years. Back to the mid major well, Fran McCaffery is hired. It took a bit but Fran has righted the program. With this year (and giving them credit for the Covid year as they would have made it), its 7 of 9 years as a tournament team. Iowa is considered easily a top 25 program again.
So while I understand @GabeD 's point on the relevance of MIZZOU as a program as it stands. You start making tournaments again and being competitive in conference and people forget your time in the valley of the damned programs. Whether its this hire (hope to God) or the next. Eventually MIZZOU will be back.
