I would absolutely love to see Mizzou recruit this kid. I coached him for 4 years in youth football and he is electrifying. He will be utilized all over the field. Slot/RB/Wildcat QB. Lightning quick.
I would say that Duke, UVA, Penn State and Vanderbilt are tied. He has been on unofficial visits to lots of schools and I think has had at least 3 officials so far.
He is not well known because he has attended 3 different high schools. (His Dad--my buddy Brandon Bennett--was a coach and he followed Dad) I think Braydon played for a year at Southside Christian, moved to St. Josephs Catholic School when his Dad got the head coaching job, and then transferred to Southside High School. He rushed for 2000+ yards in his junior year. Then he had a knee injury in his first couple games of the senior season. He's hard at work on rehab and is determined to come back better than ever.
Some kids transfer schools because of problem behavior. Not at all the case here. Braydon left a private high school (Southside Christian) to attend St. Joes because Brandon was the coach. When Brandon decided he didn't want to continue coaching at St. Joes after a year, Braydon transferred to Southside High School. (Public school)
As an aside, Brandon Bennett is in the USCe Hall of Fame and was honored in the game against MIZZOU in 2014. He played 9 years in the NFL as a 3rd down specialist for the Bears, Bengals, and a couple of other teams.
His Mom, Shannon, is a former track athlete at Clemson.
Someone is gonna get a phenomenal athlete. I hope it's MIZZOU.
I traded messages with Shannon tonight.
"Mizzou could have a shot if they called...Tell em to give us a shout out. We are open to all."
Thank goodness South Carolina is not apparently one of the finalists. I would HATE to see Mizzou play against him every year.
