Lawrence Britt has seen Missouri as a second home. A majority of his family lives in Joplin, and when the sophomore from Memphis, Tennessee, got to see the Tigers in person Tuesday, Britt put together a list of advantages of being at Missouri.
Columbia isn't too far from his relatives in the in the southwestern half of the state, offering him opportunities to see family throughout a football season. Britt also highlighted what he learned about academics and how Missouri set up players to better as people and students.
"Today, I saw true coaching, people that are passionate about their job, and all they want is the best from you," the four-star wide receiver said. "That’s what I've always came from."
Britt spent the majority of his visit with wide receivers coach Jacob Peeler, who offered the Memphis (Tenn.) Lausanne Collegiate School wideout in January. The staff treated Britt like he had a home at Missouri, being relatable to his background in Tennessee and believing in his abilities to excel at Missouri.
"I also believe he is a great mentor and father figure," Britt said. "He pushed his guys hard to make them better each rep. That's the type of coaching I love. ... Coach Peeler has a different demeanor about himself, and that's the reason why he is one of the best in the game."
Peeler initially mentioned Britt could fit at seven positions in total, but after 903 all-purpose yards this past year, Britt has a future on offense.
"Coach Peeler said he would have to wait until he got his hands on me (to find out a positional future)," Lawrence said. "We watched some clips from Luther Burden and Theo Wease to show me what he is looking for in his receivers."
