Over many team dinners, a few Sunday brunches at Kevin Puryear’s apartment and countless Mortal Kombat and 2K video duels, the walls came down between the star freshmen and the returning players.

“It’s actually been a really fun experience so far,” said Jordan Barnett, a 6-7 senior forward from CBC. “Initially coming in we all had our doubts like, ‘How are we going to mix in with these highly talented freshmen? Are they going to come in with egos?’

It really hasn’t been very hard at all. They almost seemed to fit in seamlessly with what we’re trying to do and with us not just as basketball players, but as people. We hang out all the time off the court. This is a really close team already. For such a short amount of time, I think that’s pretty remarkable.”
