BASKETBALL Rough non-con continues for the SEC

The SEC has had some early shots to notch solid wins against quality Power Five and mid-major opponents. So far, though, it's not looking great:

• Ole Miss lost to Creighton
• Georgia lost to Clemson
• Missouri lost to Xavier
• Alabama lost to Dayton
• Alabama lost to Valparaiso
• Texas A&M lost to USC
• Tennessee lost to Wisconsin
• Tennessee lost to Oregon
• Tennessee lost to Chattanooga
• Vanderbilt lost to Bucknell
• Vanderbilt lost to Marquette

Overall, CBS has the league sitting No. 9 in its conference RPI, and KenPom has it at No. 6 overall. We'll see what happens when Florida and Arkansas get marquee games, but it's hard to see how the league is positioning itself to get more than three or four bids.
