Tigers & Bulldogs were tied at 3 with GE batting in the bottom of the 6th with one out & Lowary having gone all the way at that point. Batter was the #1 HR hitter in the nation, Alex Hugo (from Olathe) and the count was 1-2.
EE took Lowary out at that strange point & replaced her with Baxter. Now Baxter is not very good but she has one (& only one) thing going for her: She can throw her changeup for a strike. I agreed with the pitching change & knew with all certainty that Bax would throw the changeup. Sure enough she did, but it was down the middle & Higo hit it into LF for a single but was thrown out at 2B while trying to advance on an errant throw. Two outs. Inexplicably & unbelievably EE left Bax in to face Swafford (10 HR's). She hit #11.
Final 6-4.
