One of my best buddies coaches the rival AAU team to that which KJ Walton plays on. I texted him yesterday to ask him if he knew anything about the kid. He said "yes"
.and went on to say he was very, very familiar with him. Said he has a big "up" side
.and I asked what does that mean? We came to the conclusion it means he's athletic. Limited offensively
..the consensus among all the schools in Indiana is that he'll never be much of a scoring threat. However, he did say that he's a great defender. Viewed as a mid-major recruit due to his offensive limitations. Said there was a lot of discussion about the kid last summer on the AAU circuit and most schools went a different direction. Said grades weren't the concern (although he knows nothing about his academics)
..just the fact he can't score consistently and doesn't appear to have the skill set to do so.
