Will be a shorter scrimmage. No Ish Witter as he is attending a funeral back home today

Just getting underway with inside run drills. We'll start posting updates when the actual scrimmage gets going.

Now doing 7 on 7. It seems this is going to be closer to about a half scrimmage than a full scrimmage.

Finally going with real scrimmage action now.

Moore, leftwich the starting receivers in the first series with two tight ends as they're coming off the goal line. First team OL is Crawford, Hall, Boehm, McNulty, Chappell.

Leftwich with a really nice grab of a pass from Mauk that was behind him for a first down. Now they move it back to the two and the second-team offense, led by Eddie Printz quarterbacks. Tyler Hunt is the running back and loses a yard. First team defense is out there. It's Hatley and Brantley at DT.

First team defense gets the three and out.

First team offense back out there now with Eric Laurent as the third receiver. False start sets them back (looked like McNulty and Rhoads who jumped).

It's now third and 26 after a Clarence Green sack of Mauk and an incompletion.

Green with coverage on second and third down incompletions. Nice opening series for him.

Nice run by Tyler Hunt on third and 7 to pick up a first down.

Those hoping for a dramatic turnaround in the passing game haven't seen it quite yet. Printz misses an open Thomas Richard down the field. Offense hasn't gotten to midfield yet.

Now a dropped pass by Keyon Dilosa over the middle. Wouldn't have been the easiest catch, but should have been made.

Donavin Newsom blows up an outside carry by Hunt for a loss of six. Now third and 14. And a pass to Tyler Hunt for no gain. Hunt and Clayton Echard are really about the only guys who have touched the ball at the skill positions.

Printz goes deep downfield for Richard. Browning basically held him for the last seven yards with both arms, but no penalty called. Odd.

Third team offense now on the field. Quickly in third and ten after no gain on a run and a high pass from Zanders. Gain of nine on third down, but defense gets the stop.

Next series starts with a bad snap from Bauer and the offense loses 13 yards.

First big offensive play of the day is a 60 yard pass from Marvin Zanders to walk on receiver Marcel Kellum.

Now Raymond Wingo makes a catch for a couple yards.

Berkstresser then takes over at QB, drive stalls and Andrew Baggett makes a 32 yard field goal.

With (I think) the 4th team offense vs 4th team defense, Johnny Eiermann with a long scramble.

1s vs 1s for the first time today.

And we have a false start on the offensive line.

1st and 15: Mauk spins out of trouble and scrambles for four.

2nd and 11: Quick pass to DeSean Blair for a yard.

3rd and 10: Drop by Hansbrough

Starting over with the 1 vs 1:

1st and 10: Scherer batted down pass

2nd and 10: Speed option left by Hansbrough for no gain (Scherer tackle)

3rd and 10: Incomplete pass

1 vs 1 again

1st and 10: Mauk option keeper for seven

2nd and 3: Incomplete pass (low throw by Mauk)

3rd and 3: Sack by Brantley or Harris (couldn't tell which one)

Total: 9 plays, 6 yards, 1 penalty for 5 yards

1 v 1 again

1st and 10: Tyler Hunt 5 yards

That is all for 1 vs 1 as the 2 offense comes on.

And on the first snap Walter Brady drops Miles Drummond for a five yard loss.

Printz to J'Mon Moore for 10 yards, which may be the longest play of the day for either of the top two offenses.

Printz drives the second team offense to the 29…and the series mysteriously ends.

Marvin Zanders leading the third team offense. Steady diet of running plays has them inside the 40.

Berkstresser to Raymond Wingo for 18 yards and a first down. Wingo now has 2 for 20 in his first offensive scrimmage. Also a bad snap and a dropped snap on this series.

They still have red zone drills, but no more live updates as I'm heading down to the field for interviews.
