Realize that the weekend isn't over for most teams (we played the rare thurs-sat series), but just to give you an idea of how things are shaking out:
East
Vandy 11-4
Mizzou 10-5
Florida 9-6
So Car 6-9
Georgia 6-9
Kentucky 5-9
Tennessee 5-10
West
aTm 11-3
LSU 10-5
Ole Miss 7-8
Arkansas 7-8
Miss State 6-9
Alabama 6-9
Auburn 5-10
Needless to say, Mizzou is sitting in a VERY good spot right now. Vandy dropped two of three to Ole Miss this weekend.
Coming into today, Mizzou's (unofficial) RPI was 20th. A win today will move that up a few ticks.
Mizzou still has series with (rpi):
Alabama (35th)
Vandy (16th)
Ole Miss (24th)
LSU (12th)
Kentucky (33rd)
Our SOS is currently around 20th. Throw in 2 with Missouri State (7th) and Mizzou's SOS should be pretty impressive. Top 15, perhaps top 10.
If they can match their 10-5 from the first half of the conference season, I think it's a worthy conversation about Mizzou getting a regional host.
Hope they keep it up. Alabama is similar to UT. A quality team, but one Mizzou can take 2 of 3 from. After that, it's a murderers row of quality competition.
